NewsNelly Furtado, Cee-Lo added to MTV awards lineupNelly Furtado, Gnarls Barkley frontman Cee-Lo Green, Common and Gym Class Heroes have been added to the lineup of this year's MTV Video Music Awards. They'll join previously announced performers including Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, Amy Winehouse and Foo Fighters at the Las Vegas ceremony, which is set to take place on September 9 at the Palms Casino Resort. Gym Class Heroes are nominated for Best New Artist and Best Group. In addition, super-producer Timbaland has been named the "official maestro" of the ceremony, responsible for "creating several show-stopping and unexpected artist collaborations," MTV said in a statement. Flooding causes Reading Festival camping shake-up Flooding at the Carling Weekend: Reading Festival site has forced organisers to close off camping areas and car parks. Festival organiser Melvyn Benn has said that many camping areas are "unusable", so has put emergency flood plans into effect to accommodate campers arriving at the festival this weekend (August 24, 25 and 26). Organisers have had to turn a proposed car park into an impromptu camp-site, and many campsites will have reduced capacity. Information about the changes can be found on the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals homepage now. "It's been a very difficult month," said Benn. "This summer has been bloody awful. "But we will be able to stage the world's greatest rock festival despite what climate change and the weather have thrown at us. I always said the festival was more important than the weather!" |
